Community Development  – (AoC-Agent of Change Program)

CFCA with the assistance and support of  Donor Agency is successfully working on special grant (Agents of Change grants) with the said goals of overall community development . It is to encourage CFCA community groups to find ways to positively impact their local communities, embodying the Unbound program worldview characteristic that, which says, “Sponsored families are agents of positive change in their local communities.”

Applications for community needs are received from CFCA village community groups across the project. Further, project level selection committee (Two elected mothers from each zone) scrutinize these applications, and the community members execute the process.

Under AoC we support village communities with the followings:

bullet

Solar street lights

bullet

Toilet / urinals

bullet

Fixing fan for school children

bullet

 Drinking water (Hand pump)

bullet

 Irrigation well (for agriculture)

bullet

 Community stage (for village functions)

bullet

 Water Purifiers etc

Villagers suffered years due to lack of access to water but now through CFCA (AoC Program) access to basic necessities are made available to the villagers like drinking water, toilets, street lights etc. One can easily witness the smiles of the villagers who waited years for this. Since the AoC program was executed from the grassroots levels, the top priority laid on the needs of the community; thus the voice of the poor gains prominence.

All doubts put to rest when they successfully executed the AoC program. Mothers surpassed all odds to successfully execute the program with all in one unified efforts. They knew the AoC program is highly beneficial not only for the sponsored community but to the entire village community irrespective of caste and creed. Everyone felt that this is the best way to build communities of compassion.
