Our response towards
Covid-19 Pandemic

The area where we work is in epidemic centre of diseases like brain malaria, diarrhea, tuberculosis, jaundice, black fever etc. many precious lives have been lost due to such terrible sickness. The Chetana Foundation organizes health camps and seminars for families to learn precautions and remedies of the diseases. saving lives is more important than anything else. Most of the villages do not have health centers or hospital. In case of serious illness of the families the Chetana Foundation through the agent of Mother Groups (SCMG) and social worker reach out there and if required medical assistance is given.

Health Care for Children and their Nutrition :

The Chetana Foundation is concerned with holistic development of the Child. Nutritional supplement isone of the basic components of the growth of the child. The families use some funds from Chetana Foundation for buying groceries, milk products and vegetables for their Children. We take initiatives to make the families aware of the care required for their children to grow healthy. Children who are mal-nourished are given extra care with vitamins and nutritious food.

Health Seminars/Awareness Camp  for women :

The health statistics of rural area continue to be poor, suffers from various health conditions owing to mainly two reasons –first the lack of education and thus lack of awareness; and second the unwillingness to lose.

To achieve good health, we strongly emphasize on prevention, early intervention, rehabilitation and education, in addition to direct care. Health education emerged to promote healthy living habits.

Chetana Foundation (CFCA) organizes regular health seminars in all zones at regular intervals. It is basically arranged to educate women of the SCMGs about general health and hygiene. Reputed Doctors and mainly gynecologists of the area create awareness on various health topic of health, particularly issues related to women’s health.

In order to make it a quality health camp, we provide free check up and free treatment. Our health camps for optimum benefit are planned three phase - pre health camp talk, actual health camp check up, and post health camp treatment. Doctors and paramedical staff from renowned government and non-government medical hospitals examine patients, gave free medical consultation in areas of general medicine, dental treatment, Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure Testing and  give valuable talk on public hygiene and prescribe as well as distribute free medicines etc for the poor and needy.

Sources of common infections and high risk areas according to various age groups for which all women need to take precautions are discussed, and suggestions are exchanged on how to deal with these vulnerabilities. Participating women from the community also share their individual problems with the doctor.

Every year about 2500 mothers are benefited from this program. They get instant clarification about their doubt on any of the health concerns. Special impetus is given on the importance of personal hygiene and clean surroundings as the basic requirement of healthy lifestyle. Chetana Foundation workers help rural women on developing healthy habit and following nutritious diet patterns for achieving considerable results in health of the members in each family.

Through Medical Awareness seminar, conducted by CFCA at regular intervals covering all the Zones and Sub-projects, many qualified medical personal like Doctors are involved in this initiative. They constantly give awareness speeches, informative lectures, and suggest the necessary medical help or treatment. Talks on seasonal sicknesses, Gynecological Problems such as pregnancy related issues, menstrual problems, menopause and other issues pertaining to child-birth and child care are arranged.

Maternal health is one of the major aspects covered during the workshop, which highlights the dietary needs of expecting and lactating mothers. Interactive session  with  preparation of demo diet chart etc with active involvement of the participants has a real impact. The are asked to make verbal presentation based on their understanding of the session. These women also volunteer to share the learning with their neighbors and peers from the community.

Through an integrated approach, Chetana Foundation aims at creating a promising impact on the mindsets of the people. Primary health care fosters creating awareness, health promotion and disease prevention along with nutritious diet and personal hygiene.

As CFCA’s efforts are directed towards bringing about a change that long lasting and ultimately empowering the individuals in the family, health is a key area of intervention which encompasses all the age-groups of the families. The Health camp program for the community has increased the trust on us and our work. The people from the sponsored community are demanding for more such programs.
